Panel Physician and the contractor of the U.S. Embassy in Ankara for the U.S. bound migrant health screenings in Turkey. Has been a preferred physician of foreign missions in Turkey (like Embassies of the U.S.A, UK, Sweden, Georgia and etc.) and international health providers (like Helix International, Tricare, International SOS, Allianz, Axa and etc.). Is closely working with the American CDC on migrant health and takes part in the faculty for trainings of panel physicians. Was the healthcare provider contractor for BOTAS and BP offices during the oil pipeline construction. Professor at the Ankara University Department of Family Medicine. Graduate of Istanbul University Cerrahpasa School of Medicine (1987). Specialist title in Family Medicine (1992). Founder and two times President of the National College of Family Medicine (TAHUD, 1990). Completed University of Exeter Postgraduate Medical School’s Trainers’ Training program on General Practice/FM, in Devon, UK, worked in Essen/Germany. Associate Professor title in Family Medicine (2002), Full Professor position in Ankara University, School of Medicine (2011). Chaired the European General Practice Research Network (EGPRN, 2013-2014 and 2016-2019). Currently the president of World Organization of Family Doctors, Europe (WONCA Europe). In advisory board of the European Forum for Primary Care (EFPC) representing WONCA Europe. In editorial boards of some Journals in Family Medicine. His research focuses on Primary Care, Information Technologies, Refugee & Immigrant Health, Immunization Practices, Clinical Medicine, Translational Research, Patient Education, Prevention, GI Diseases and Family Medicine. He was involved in international projects related with AIDS, Osteoporosis (IAEA), Tuberculosis, Burn-out and the European Research Agenda. Has more than 70 published papers and chapters in books. Has been the editor of 2 international medical books. Has more than 350 citations to his papers. Designer and one of the developers of the free to access “International Web-based Course on Research in Primary Health Care” available on the EGPRN website.
